| I
have been coaching Football, Basketball, and Track since 1991. The HIGHLIGHTS
include my first coaching job as a Track coach in small town Rutland;
to Head FB and Track, & Asst. BB in DeSmet,
to "AA" coaching in Brandon.
During that time, I have
been truly blessed to have coached some tremendous athletes, coached
along-side some of our states best coaches, learned & mentored under a
"Legend" of SD coaching, and made some lasting friendships and
memories. I have been lucky enough to coach FB teams in the playoffs, be an asst. on two State BB Championship teams in '95 & '99 and coach thirteen Individual Track and three Relay State Champions, and State Track Meet MVP in Back to Back Seasons.
The Championships are always easy to remember, but some my proudest
coaching moments have been in '95 when the DeSmet
BB team was the Consolation Champion in the State "A" BB
Tourney. The '98 DHS Boys Track Team:
taking Howard Wood victories in the Medley and 3200m relays and 3rd Place
in the State "A" Track Meet, winning the 3200m Relay, Medley
Relay and 1600m Relays, with only 6 boys. And the '99
DHS Track Team with one participant winning 3200m, 1600, 800m and
2nd in the 400m , and placing 4th as a team. Most recently, the BVMS
'02 BB "A" team 13-2 record, and the BVMS
'04 overall record of 30-1 while being successful and learning
sportsmanship and teamwork along the way. |
